International Researchers #ChooseCNRS

09 avril 20252min min de lecture

The mission of the CNRS is to conduct fundamental research at the highest international level across all scientific fields and apply it for the benefit of society. The global success of French research is largely attributable to the CNRS, which, for over 85 years, has recruited talented personnel, played a pivotal role in national coordination and structuring, and promoted French science worldwide. While this fundamental research is primarily curiosity-driven, it is also mission-oriented, aimed at addressing societal needs. These two approaches complement and reinforce each other, providing answers or contributing to the resolution of questions posed by researchers and society at large. Whether social, economic, or related to understanding, these questions require interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches, making the CNRS, with its unique scientific spectrum, an indispensable key player.

The CNRS invites researchers wishing to come to or return to France to apply for our hosting program. The CNRS welcomes researchers, regardless of nationality, in all fields of science, in its ten scientific divisions: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Universe Sciences, Ecology and Environment, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Nuclei and Particles, and Physics. Our positions are open in nearly 900 research laboratories throughout France. All successful candidates are expected to submit an ERC (European Research Council) application within one year of their recruitment.
