Training throughout your career
The CNRS offers numerous training programmes and some one hundred thematic schools per year. With e-learning, videos, training platforms, tutorials, the CNRS innovates in order to offer its personnel and its units solutions that are best adapted to their needs.
On average CNRS staff undergo three days of training per year.
Training means being an actor in one’s career.
It guarantees the acquisition, development and maintenance
of collective and individual skills while matching CNRS scientific priorities with aspirations for professional and/or personal development.
The CNRS facilitates the career development of its staff,
particularly in its key stages.
Training monitored on a national level, in connection with local actors and in response to training needs

What are the training activities?
Training activities are national and regional, linked to the CNRS strategy; they accompany the units’ scientific activity, the organisation of research, professional and career development.
Thematic schools at the national level
They accompany the scientific policy of the institutes and the development of interdisciplinarity.
National Training Activities
They accompany the policies of the institutes and the functional divisions (including the professional networks).
Regional activities
They are based on the training needs expressed by staff and the needs of the units and services, and professional networks…
Quality of daily life at work
"Who better than you can know what you need to improve your quality of life at work?"
The CNRS supports initiatives and innovative actions centred on the dynamics of dialogue, time for exchange and sharing, team integration, a better knowledge of each other.
The quality of life at work at the CNRS is also a guide to establishing a life-work balance, a handbook for working better together.

Understanding salaries
The salaries of CNRS permanent staff are undergoing considerable change as a result of the application of new pay scales following “PPCR” (Professions, Careers and Remunerations) salary negotiations and the changeover of the engineers and technicians corps to the new system of allowances, functions, expertise and professional commitment (RIFSEEP) that will replace most existing allowances and benefits.
