Supervision and animation of scientific and technical teams

Discover a non-exhaustive list of different possible science management functions, which most of the time, animate multidisciplinary, multi-cultural and multi-membership communities.

Director of a laboratory unit

The unit director leads a laboratory or research support unit in all aspects. This covers the scientific, technical, budgetary and financial, human, forward-looking, day-to-day management, partnership, communication and promotion aspects, all of which are necessary to achieve the unit's project and/or objectives. He/she develops a high-level research activity in order to have a sufficiently broad vision of the field to guide the scientific choices necessary for the management of the team. In this context, he/she organizes and leads the unit's scientific and technological trajectory.

Large infrastructure manager (M/F)

The large infrastructure manager coordinates and/or drives the design and/or evolution and operation of a large research infrastructure. The nature of the infrastructure may vary considerably depending on the disciplinary field, the technologies mobilized, their materiality or virtuality, the size, location and number of sites, and their national or international character. The main mission is to give the scientific communities access to the most efficient equipment and to the data produced, to provide very high-level environments for conducting large-scale research in cutting-edge fields. National Major Project Scientist (M/F)

Within the framework of the CNRS-led project guidelines (e.g. France 2030, Equipex, Labex, PEPR, etc.), the national scientific leader of a major project organizes and pilots the project and coordinates all the players involved in the project of national or international scope. He or she pilots the projects in all their dimensions, notably strategic, financial, legal, organizational and technical. He or she contributes to the implementation of a policy of communication and promotion of the project both internally and externally to the CNRS.
