2024 recruitment of students with disabilities

March 26, 2024 - 3min min reading
As a key player in the training of researchers, each year the CNRS renews its offer of doctoral contracts for students with disabilities, who wish to acquire additional training through research at the end of their post-graduate studies. This training must lead to a thesis.

These contracts are specially financed as part of the national integration policy for disabled people. They are intended to complement the existing global offer, and do not exclude other types of training that may be granted to students with disabilities who are carrying out a thesis project within the framework of traditional doctoral contract funding.

Beneficiaries of these contracts are hosted, according to the rhythm of the academic year, in a research unit belonging to or associated with the CNRS. Doctoral contracts are awarded for a period of 3 years, subject each year to re-enrolment in a doctoral school. Remuneration is a minimum of €2,135 gross per month. If the doctoral student is entrusted with a complementary activity (teaching, for example) in addition to his or her doctoral research activity, the remuneration will be higher.

The scheme is open to all research disciplines.
In operational terms, the selection campaign is the responsibility of the HRD, and is organized by the national disability correspondent within the CSR department: cnrs-handicap.correspondant.national@cnrs.fr

Selection criteria :

  • Interested candidates contact the laboratories directly; they apply with a research project of their choice within the limits of the unit's scientific themes, in liaison with the doctoral school to which the host laboratory belongs;
  • Laboratory management interviews candidates with a view to their possible candidacy;
  • in conjunction with the laboratories, candidates complete the the application formwhich they send either to the human resources department of the CNRS regional delegation responsible for their laboratory, or directly to the national disability correspondent (by post or courier);
  • the national disability correspondent has the applications examined by the institute managers, who select the beneficiaries of the contracts on the basis of the admissibility of the projects and the quality of the applications.
  • it provides information on the results of the appraisals and the choice of candidates.
